The perspective of many in the newsroom is that they are moderates; that they are in the center when in fact they are to the left. If you start out with that skewed perception then anyone ACTUALLY in the center is viewed as leaning right. Those who lean right are the solid conservatives; which means the solid conservatives get lumped in with the extreme elements, (such as the Rev Phelps [i.e. God hates fags] nutbag). It also means you view the solid liberals as merely leaning left, and the extreme elements are broken up into “solid liberals” and “the extreme".<br /><br />Why is it that when an issue comes up that is significant to women and there is only a single guest on the mainstream media to talk about it that woman always seems to be from NOW? This is especially true when the topic is abortion. NOW is a hard left-wing organization.<br /><br />The coverage of Obama was horrendous. Why was Peter Jennings saying after the inauguration “We really don’t know much about this guy.”? Because they didn’t delve into it during the election. They didn’t want to know because if they dug too deep they might find dirt and they were too caught up in having tingles run up their leg about the Obamessiah to actually do their jobs. ...
